'Pray for Myanmar', The Performance of Miss Universe Myanmar Representative

Myanmar representative who took part in the Miss Universe contest brought up a sign that required international attention on the Myanmar coup and focused attention around the world.

미스 유니버스 대회에 출전한 미얀마 대표가 미얀마 쿠데타에 관한 국제 사회의 관심을 요하는 팻말을 들고나와 전세계의 이목을 집중시켰다.

The New York Times on the 15th (local time) introduced the story of Myanmar's representative, Thuzar Wint Lwin(22), who is participating in the ongoing Miss Universe competition in Florida.
뉴욕타임스(NYT)는 15일(현지시간) 미국 플로리다주(州)에서 진행 중인 미스 유니버스 대회에 참가한 미얀마 대표 Thuzar Wint Lwin(22)의 사연을 소개했다.

Thuzar unfolded a sign saying, 'Pray for Myanmar' in front of the audience on the 13th (local time) during a traditional costume contest held at the Hard Rock Hotel. Then, when Thuzar folded the sign and greeted putting her hands together in traditional manner, the audience responded with applause and cheers.
Thuzar는 지난 13일(현지시간) 하드록 호텔에서 열린 전통 의상 경연 도중 관객들 앞에서 '미얀마를 위해 기도를(Pray for Myanmar)'이라는 내용이 적힌 팻말을 펼쳐 든 것으로 알려졌다. 이어 투자가 팻말을 접고 전통방식인 합장과 함께 인사를 하자 관객들은 박수와 환호로 화답했다.

Thuzar majoring in English at Yangon University is a celebrity who works as models in Myanmar. Since beginning of the coup, she has continued to participate in the demonstrations and posted messages against the military on Facebook.
양곤대학교에서 영어를 전공하는 Thuzar는 미얀마에서 모델로 일하는 유명인사다. 쿠데타 이후 계속해서 시위에 참여하거나 페이스북에 군에 반대하는 글을 올렸다.

Thuzar remembering the days of military dictatorship before democratization took place in Myanmar in 2015 emphasized that Myanmar society should not return to the past.
2015년 미얀마에서 민주화 이전 군사독재 시절을 기억하는 Thuzar는 미얀마 사회가 과거로 돌아가지 말아야 한다고 강조했다.

Myanmar's coup is no longer a case for a country in Myanmar, but a case that the whole world should be interested in. Especially, Korea, which has a history of democracy against dictatorship and oppression, should have a special concern.
미얀마의 쿠데타는 더 이상 미얀마 한 국가의 일이 아니라 전 세계가 관심을 가져야 하는 일이다. 특별히 민주화운동-독재와 탄압에 맞선 민주주의의 역사를 가진 우리나라는 특별한 관심을 가져야 할 것이다.
