Today, we are going to learn the phrase, 'wrap up' which means to wrap something such as a gift, to complete something such as a task or put the finishing touches on something, to put warm clothing on someone, to bring something to a conclusion or settle something finally or successfully, etc. Let's take a look at example sentences.

 1) To wrap something such as a gift 

  ① Don't forget to wrap up Jane's present before you go to the party.

   파티에 가기 전에 제인이의 선물 포장하는 것 잊지 말아라. 

  ② I wrapped up the sandwiches and took them with me.

   나는 샌드위치를 포장해서 가지고 갔다.

 

 2) To complete something such as a task or put the finishing touches on something

  ① I can wrap up this project in a week.

   이 프로젝트는 일주일 안에 끝낼 수 있어요.

  ② Everyone, let's wrap it up for tonight.

    여러분, 오늘 밤에 마무리 지읍시다. 

 

 

3) To put warm clothing on someone

  ① My father wrapped me up in a parka and snow pants.

   아버지는 나를 파카와 스노우 팬츠로 따뜻하게 입혔다

  ② The nanny wrapped up the children and sent them to the park.

   그 유모는 아이들을 따뜻하게 입혀서 공원으로 보냈다. 

 

 4) To bring something to a conclusion or settle something finally or successfully

  ① The two executives met and wrapped up the deal.

   두 임원은 만나서 거래를 성사시켰다.

  ② Let's wrap this meeting up before dinner.

   저녁 식사 전에 이 회의를 마무리합시다.
