Today, we are going to learn the phrase, 'walk out' which means to abondon or leave someone, to leave something abruptly, often because one is displeased or unhappy, to go on strike, to escort or accompany someone as they leave a particular building or place, etc. Let's take a look at example sentences.

1) To abondon or leave someone

 ① You walked out on your family when they needed you the most.

 ① The union workers plan to walk out as soon as the contract expires.

  노조원들은 계약이 만료되는 대로 파업할 계획이다.

 ② The union threatened to walk out if management would not listen to its demands.

  노조는 사측이 자신들의 요구를 들어주지 않으면 파업을 하겠다고 위협했다.

 

4) To escort or accompany someone as they leave a particular building or place

 ① Your mom is leaving now, so please walk her out.

  엄마가 지금 나가니, 동행해주세요. 

 ② Make sure you walk out Grandma because sha has trouble going down those steps.

  할머니는 계단을 내려가시기가 어려우니 할머니와 꼭 동행해주세요.
